DEUS UNIVERSALIS

multimedia performance
Premiered at the Flanders Festival Ghent / Listen to the Lamb! event during the Van Eyck Year 2020.

Inspired by the enigmatic and Byzantine atmosphere of the central panel ‘God Almighty enthroned’ of Jan Van Eyck’s world-famous painting “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb”,
Composer Jean Delouvroy explores the timeless and universal dimension of rituals and mysticism.
A haunting, extra-sensory experience, full of sound and music, images and dance.
Commissioned and performed by members of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

MANTRA
As a child, traveling with his father to Darjeeling, India, Delouvroy witnessed veils of mist gliding majestically down mountain slopes.
Such an unexpected, once-in-a-lifetime experience one would love to play over and over again before the mind’s eye.

O.B.E.

Music / soundtrack for the the O.B.E. project (AR, VR and Video) of Berlin based media artist Anke Schiemann.
Performances/exhibitions (2020-2021): MKV “Interlock #4″ at Alte Münze Berlin, “Performing Arts Festival” Berlin, “World of Networks-Réseaux-mondes” at Centre Pompidou Paris.

Consciousness is the appearance of the world. The human consciousness differs from other biologically evolved phenomena fundamentally, that it makes a reality to appear in itself. Consciousness as a reality generator is the central theme of the work O.B.E. (virtual reality experience), Ego Passages (augmented dance performance in six scenes) and the video essay I-Machina. O.B.E. stands for ‘out of body experience’.
